Hiking the Carolinas is the first hiking guidebook to include Dupont State Forest, Panthertown Valley near Cashiers, and Green River Game Lands near Hendersonville in North Carolina, and also lists eight hikes in upstate South Carolina, an area largely undocumented in other guidebooks.

Hiking North Carolina's Blue Ridge Heritage Danny Bernstein's (web site) latest book,  a hiking guide which covers the Blue Ridge National Heritage area. It spans the triangle from Pilot Mountain State Park to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (west) and down to Highlands (south) on the Georgia border.
